This year I was fortunate enough to get  four iPads for just the art classroom to use. They are a wonderful tool for creation and learning. One drawback however, the Korean business office did not order full cases. Somehow they thought just a smart cover would suffice for students as young as first grade. I’d love to think that my students are responsible enough to never drop anything, but that is ridiculous.

So after finding out that the covers could not be switched for cases I decide to do what we artists do, make them myself. I found bubble envelopes that were the perfect size. I figured that a bit of duct tape and a box cutter would do the trick.

The cases actually turned out quite well… at first and then the bubbles started to pop. Do to this the cases are a tad to big, but a bit of velcro tape to resize it has helped. Slightly shabby looking, but they do the trick. Quite a few of my kiddos have requested that I make one for their iPad.
