Creative Problem Solving
One of the most important things to me in teaching is that my students learn how to solve problems independently of teacher guidance. In this 2nd quarter of school we have been working on the Creative Process. In fourth grade students had to work in groups or individual to submit a design for a clay mural that the whole grade level would create. There were some excellent designs. Students had to choose between three topics while designing: Peace, Creativity or our ESLRs. I really liked the designs for creativity, but in the end Peace won out.
Here are the designs that received the most votes:
The students did a really great job working together on matching the tiles to their classmates drawings. Soon after the long drying and firing process the painting will begin.
